Place the lid on the cooker with the arrow mark on the lid aligned with the arrow mark on the body handle. Gently press down the lid with one hand and rotate the lid handle (clockwise) to ensure it is securely in place above the body handle.
Note: If steam is not escaping normally, the safety valve will activate. This valve will also operate if the cooker runs dry, raising the temperature beyond safe limits. The safety valve includes a fusible alloy that melts at a specific temperature, releasing pressure safely. The valve can be easily replaced as shown in the instructions.
